The building adjoins 5 listed heritage buildings on a very limited site. This project was undertaken in conjunction with Sir Miles Warren and received an NZIA Design Award. |

Christchurch Polytech Jazz School (4 photos)

College House Student Common Room and Study Centre (5 photos)
This new two level building inserts itself into the context of Sir Miles Warren's master plan for the College House Campus. A student lounge on the ground floor has become the social hub of this University Hall of Residence. A large subdividable, multi-use room on the upper floor is accessed from a wide feature spiral staircase and glazed foyers. NZIA Resene Local Award for Architecture Recipient. |

Mt Pleasant Primary School - New Classrooms (5 photos) All classrooms are organised with access to flexible open plan shared spaces and separate small group teaching rooms. Large areas of glazing between classrooms and shared/flexible areas enhance teacher supervision and create a light and spacious interior. The building forms follow sound environmental principles with broad eaves to shade the strong summer sun and high level clerestory windows allowing good cross ventilation. A varied and rich palette of colours and textures has been used inside and out to create dignified yet cheerful facilities in which the school delights. |

Rangi Ruru Girls’ School - Swimming Pool (1 photo)
A new 25m tiled outdoor pool with changing facilities is sited prominently facing the school playing fields. With a focus on the landscape and use of vibrant colour inside and out, the facility has created a lively and attractive addition to the school. Designed in association with ASC Architects. |

St Andrew’s College - Senior College (2 photos)
The strong exterior geometries and the long, curved brick colonnade express a collegiate feel to this facility designed for senior college pupils. The interior spaces radiate around a feature circular atrium space with access to the first floor study centre via an ingenious spiral ramp around the drum's interior surface. |

St Andrew's College - Spiro Science & Mathematics Centre (3 photos) This major addition to the existing science laboratory wing encompasses the addition of several new maths and computer classrooms as well as several new specialist science laboratories, technicians facilities and support resource and staff rooms, all worked around two existing stairwells. More significantly it reworks the whole quadrangle in the heart of the College and infuses a new image for the Senior campus. Creating a contemporary design that integrates several disparate existing building forms as well as a new outdoor student gathering space was the principal design challenge. |
