W+B worked with the Catholic Diocese of Christchurch to define options for the repair, strengthening and rebuilding of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament after the Christchurch earthquakes of 2011. An extended concept design phase included rigorous reassessments of all liturgical and functional requirements. A digital model of the building was employed to present alternatives in an evocative way.
