The Canterbury Club

The brief was to restore the Clubhouse and to build a modern major addition that would have an ‘iconic’ presence. The promotion of the Club was a significant functional aspect of the brief. Our interpretation was to develop an interstitial form that whilst contemporary should also achieve a handsome balance between restoration of the traditional aspects of the Club. The exterior is strong in its language but is also discrete in terms of the Club's Heritage. NZIA Regional Award Winner ❮
